Digitals 2 - Still silly

I am still doing some real drawing. Well, real drawing is still what I spend a lot of time thinking about, when I'm at baby groups and walking around pretending to be normal. I am pleased with how quickly I can do these though. Time and energy pretty comprehensively compromised these days.

Simpleton Crusty

Here is part of a painting I've been painting. It is a simpleton lion.

What I've sort of realised is that my paintings might serve a completely different purpose to my drawings. In fact I suspect that the same people who are predisposed to dig my drawings might not really dig the paintings, and that's alright.

I'll elaborate on this issue in another time and place.

Having said that, following on from slow crusty layered paintings like this one, I might also do some faster fresher paintings which have more in common with my fast swishy cocky drawings.

There's a continuum going on here or light to heavy, or fun to serious. I'm trying to be aware of where my respective things sit on that continuum, or slide up and down it.

I Make Your Ankle Hurt

Randy is more advanced than Kurt, in the sense of being further along the line of my understanding his face.

Kurt looks slightly feminised and slightly baby-like in my pictures. He’s all tender round the edges for the time being.

More dragon.

Primitive Kurt Angle studies. He has some whopping big expressive blue eyes, I do not have a handle on them yet.

There’s a tender little oil painting based on wrestling.

Not feeling too texty tonight. Have a look at my texty blog if you want text. I done plenty.

Bye bye,

Love from Chloe.
